In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Iron Workers and IMPACT want to address returning to work and related issues. Please join this interactive town hall forum, which will address some of the primary issues facing partner contractors and ironworker members as projects reopen across North America.
We will discuss the following:
Changes and misconceptions about the pandemic
Contacting the Iron Workers Safety Department
Iron Workers COVID-19 reporting form
Difficulties in determining when and where workers contracted the virus
Reportable-recordable cases: regulatory requirements and criteria for employers
Workplace risk assessments
PPE mandate and availability
Issues pertaining to differences between respirators, masks and face coverings
New safety and health requirements of project authorities
Temperature testing
Antibody testing
Training and instruction on safe practices to prevent exposure and spread of COVID-19
Work activities and situations requiring special attention
Common questions regarding the use of PPE when required
Sample job site safety program for contractors
