Who We Are
Allied Building Metal Industries, Inc.
Allied Building Metal Industries, Inc., has been in existence since 1922. Today, Allied is one of the New York City metropolitan area’s oldest and most respected employer associations. Allied’s membership includes the leading erectors of structural steel, curtainwall, and architectural, ornamental and miscellaneous metal products in heavy and building construction in New York City, Nassau, Suffolk and Westchester Counties.
Allied serves many functions on behalf of its members. Among Allied’s core priorities is to serve as an advocate on behalf of its members before governmental, legislative, and regulatory decision-makers, and as a collaborative partner and problem-solver vis-à-vis the labor unions with which Allied has forged long-standing core relationships. Allied also serves as a resource center for its members, keeping them abreast of industry-wide issues, trends and developments, while also providing members with access to industry and association events, and opportunities to preside in leadership roles within the association.
Looking ahead, Allied will seek to undertake enhancements to its member services, to drive higher brand awareness, to develop effective strategies around member acquisition, engagement and retention, and generally to strengthen its position as a thought leader in the industry. At the same time, Allied will continue to pursue its core initiatives, with an emphasis in three key areas.
Advocacy/Collaboration. Allied is dedicated to protecting and advancing its members’ interests, and working in concert with its labor partners, for the benefit of the industry as a whole. Having a dedicated team to advocate on your behalf and maintain strong core relationships with your industry and labor partners is good for business.
Networking. Perhaps the greatest benefit of being an Allied member is the networking and camaraderie that goes on among members. Allied membership offers a bridge to communicate with your competitors in the industry and to forge alliances in a collaborative environment.
Education/Research. Allied will strive to offer a greater array of educational resources and opportunities on topics of interest to its members and to seek out opportunities, where appropriate and feasible, to conduct market research and analysis on industry-specific topics impacting association members.
As we approach our 100th year, and beyond, Allied will continue to stay focused on its core mission by remaining visible, accessible, and engaged for the good of its members, its industry and labor partners, and the industry as a whole.
